Dinner with the Wushu Society

The Wushu society runs the Tai chi (or Taiji, whichever you prefer) classes that I go to on a Saturday morning so I thought I’d turn up at the AGM to make sure they didn’t do anything drastic like cancel them. After much discussion about how we need to promote ourselves better, we finally got down to the important part; electing officials for next year. Except it was less like electing, and more badgering people to take up each position and then summarily electing them. It was pretty much democracy by numbers.

Anyways, as such, I’m now the Taiji co-ordinator, so I’m responsible for things like collecting monies for the classes and things. Whee.

Then we went out for dinner at the Golden Dragon in Chinatown, and had a jolly good time of it. On the way Oscar told me about how he’s working on revolutionising quantum theory for his PhD thesis. The guy is very smart, and from what little he told me it seems like he might be on to something.

The food and company were both excellent, and I drank a heck of a lot of tea. The guy who instructs the Taiji classes, Allan, just kept filling my cup up whenever I emptied it.

Anyways, we went for ice cream after. It was marvellous.
