I know exactly what you mean, Callan. I simply cannot understand a perspective in which it is OK to kill your own daughter for something like that, or where your beliefs become more important than the lives of others. I'd like to see the view from these perspectives because you should always try to understand what you're disagreeing with, and I'd like to get everyone to see things from my point of view as well. Although yes, imposition.

I'm not a member of Amnesty. I'm not entirely sure why. I guess becuase I simply can't commit to a regular donation to anything, and because I'm not sure how they can make a whole lot of difference. If my money were to go to anyone it would probably be Oxfam but as it is, I send odd, random donations as and when I can and that's the pitiful total of my charitable involvement.

And yes, the Christmas truce was a beautiful moment. But how could those same soldiers climb back into the trenches and get to fighting again the moment hte holiday was over? How hard and pointless must that have seemed?

*agrees*

In a way, I wish I could just get everyone to see the world the way I do, to give them a piece of my mind, so to speak. Sadly, this would just be another form of imposition. I worry about the future of humanity, though, when so many people are so inhumane.
